MY DAILY QUIET TIME
On this lovely afternoon I'm going to take you inside my quiet time.
*A little disclosure before I begin*
I do believe that having a quiet time with God is highly important. I personally have been all over the place with doing it in the morning or before I go to bed though and lately I've been learning that I really need to start waking up early in the morning and doing this before my day gets really busy or I have to go to work. Starting my day off on the right foot so to speak.
* I will do a full morning routine in the future*
My alone time looks a bit like this:
As I'm typing this up I'm thinking that I should incorporate what I'm currently studying with my small group into my quiet time (I usually do this separately).
******************************************************************
My favorite place to do my quiet time is either in my bedroom or in my living room where I can turn on a sermon if I want to or turn on my music.
As I mention below is that you'll need a bible and journal: This bible and journal is what I personally use.
Pens, Highlighters
Also if you want to take it a step further and start doing a gratitude list at the end of your quiet time/prayer time, check out this post from Shay at Mix and Match Mama, this post really, really inspired me.
I'm also currently reading Consider the Lilies
(I will try to add any books that I read this year that are faith based to my In Christ Style tab)
A LITTLE Q&A:
What is a quiet time?
A quiet time is your alone time with God. Just you and God. You are reading his word and either journaling what spoke to you, praying, etc. You can pick either morning (if that works best) or night (if that works best). The thing is that you pick a time and place and spend quality time in the word.
What do I need for a quiet time/alone time?
The Essentials for a Daily Quiet Time:
A quiet place in your home/apartment
Your Bible/Bible Study/Commentaries
A notebook with your pens, pencils and highlighters
A coffee/tea/drink of your choice
Earbuds/earphones, blanket, lamp, etc.

Earbuds/earphones, blanket, lamp, etc.
Start a gratitude list/continue with it (This one is personally for me, I'm putting it down for accountability)
What if I'm just starting to read the bible?
If you're just starting to read the bible, I would recommend purchasing a study bible and commentary. If you're unable to purchase a bible, don't worry, you can either visit thebible.com or download the Youversion App on your phone and you can find tons of plans, videos, etc. on the app! Also, don't forget you can watch church online and if you need one please visit hillsideonline.com or you can visit CO22.
Also, if you need some encouragement check out Ashley Hetherington out! She has lots of great content on her instagram and YouTube.
Not all of our quiet times will look alike. Do what makes you feel comfortable!! There is no wrong way, but I would try to do it when you don't have any distractions or interruptions!!
If you're looking for additional resources please check out my tab that says In Christ Style. I've listed some additional resources there just in case you're looking for notebooks, pens, or even sermons!!
