Movie: War Room
Thursday, April 28, 2016
Good Morning!
Have you seen this movie?
ABOUT THE MOVIE:
War Room is about a young wife struggling with her marriage. She then meets an older woman who helps and guides her through starting and building a strong prayer life.
Disclaimer:Allow me to say that this movie goes down on my all time favorites list. If you haven't seen this movie, I would RUN not walk to this movie (Purchase it on Itunes or go to wherever movies are sold in your area)!! It's just that good. I would recommend seeing it before reading this post. I don't want to spoil anything for you.
"For the battle is not yours, but God's"
-2 Chronicles 20:15
With that said.....Seeing this movie was truly inspiring and made me WANT (notice I said "want") to become a better all around Christian and prayer warrior. I want to be the kind of person (it doesn't matter if your a man or woman, boy or girl) that is slow to anger and quick to pray before each decision. I want to fight my battles in prayer rather than in angry words or any other way.
On the blog here I've posted about doing a prayer/gratitude journal and quite time...all these wonderful things, but due to life excuses like I have to go workout after work, I'm too tired, I have to do this or that, etc. I have not been consistent or making it a priority to pray or do my quiet time. Yes, I do go to a bible study on Wednesday nights, but just to go to a bible study on Wednesday and church on Sunday is not enough. To be the best that God designed us to be we all need to be studying his word.
After I saw this movie I was so,so,so inspired to start my own "war room", but have I even started it? No. With that said though...I do want to get this book The Battle Plan For Prayer by Stephen and Alex Kendrick. You can also get The Battle Plan for Prayer companion Study guide As I've said before I believe that prayer is an essential part of the christian walk with GOD. Without prayer we can't grow as Christians.
To start with these truths about prayer:
To create your "WAR ROOM" wall
Romans 12:1-2
Philippians 4:4-9
Colossians 3:12-17
1 Timothy 6:17-19
II Timothy 2:22-23
1 Peter 1:13-16
1 Peter 5:-9
Deuteronomy 6:5-7
My overall point in doing this post is that we need to learn to let God fight our battles and not us.
Tomorrow on the blog, I'm sharing my goals for May!!
